A Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment certificate indicates a company’s level of compliance in terms of BBBEE in South Africa. The lower the level of contribution the stronger a company is in relation to its competition when looking for business.
A certificate is only valid for one year and should be verified because often a company can be disqualified from a tender if they do not submit a valid document. In South Africa a company without a valid BBBEE certificate cannot do business with municipalities, government departments or any state owned entities.
