Recently in a webinar presented by the Mail & Guardian and the Law Society of South Africa William Booth, a Cape Town based attorney stressed that many South Africans had been paying admission of guilt fines after having been accused of contravening lockdown regulations. His suggestion was to rather take the matter to court.

At iFacts we are very aware of how criminal records can affect the employability of an individual and recently Carte Blanche highlighted how people trying to expunge criminal records were negatively affected by their criminal records.

Close to 300 000 people have allegedly been charged for contravening lockdown regulations and if you have signed an admission of guilt we would strongly recommend that you contact iFacts and do a criminal record check on yourself to establish what information is held by the SAPS to ensure that there are no surprises when next you apply for a job or even a visa to travel to another country.
