August 14, 2012

From Security Focus Vol 30 No 7 "Annual State of the Industry 2012" (page 5):

According to Jenny Reid, president of the Security Association of South Africa (SASA), security has become a crucial investment for most South African businesses and homeowners, and SASA believes that compliance, integrity and efficacy have now become vital key points for private security companies.

"SASA still has an important part to play in maintaining and furthering the values of the security industry", says Ms Reid. "To maintain the excellence of our members, we have to ensure security companies are compliant and do our best to eradicate unscrupulous and unaccredited providers. One of the ways to achieve this is by educating the industry and all other stakeholders."

She adds that more and more security companies are seeing the advantages of being backed by SASA Gold membership status, which proves that SASA is playing a valuable role for members, their clients and society at large.
